This panorama was taken in front of Ooishi Shrine in Akou, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.Ooishi Shrine is dedicated to Kuranosuke OOISHI and 46 of his men who died for their lord. On both sides of the approach are their stone figures.In 1701, Ooishi's lord Asano was humiliated by Kira in Edo Castle. Asano drew his katana sword in anger and hurt Kira.Shogun ordered Asano to commit hara-kiri because murder attempt in Shogun's castle (Edo Castle) was a serious crime. However, Kira was not punished.One of Asano's men Ooishi and other 46 samurais decided to revenge for their lord.In 1702, they charged at Kira's mansion and killed him.Many people thought the revenge was a virtue according to Bushido spirit.Naturally, 46 of 47 samurais were ordered by the goverment to commit hara-kiri because murder was a felony even in those days. The only surviver was a messenger who told the news that the revenge was successful to the people in their hometown.Japanese people think 47 samurais are the symbol of loyalties.

It means, "sea shaped like an ear", in Chinese. Implying that the lake is ear shaped and as large as a sea, hence it was so named. The lake covers an area of 250 square kilometers and is located about two kilometers east of Dali. It is like a crescent lying between Cangshan and Dali city as seen from Cangshan Mount. This amazing lake lies next to the amazing historic sites in the Dali valley and the natural scenery and good hiking trails on Cangshan Mountain. The whole region is full of interesting and beautiful sites. The easy access to beautiful and quiet places to camp, ride horses, ride bikes and hike in high mountains is unusual in China. You can experience ethnic cultures in this area as well. The ancient city of Dali and the other historic sites lie west of Erhai Lake. The local people feel that this big lake with its clear water and its reflections of land and sky as well as the entire region are unusually beautiful, and it is another highlight of a visit to Yunnan Province.The panorama was in The Beach Plaza of Erhai Park. There is a small chapel on top of the Lorettoberg, where the French king Louis XV. Watched the siege of Freiburg in 1744. He was only just missed by a canon ball, that is still stuck in the wall of the chapel – the little dark spot to the left of the round window above the door of the chapel.
